How COOL is That?!!

As Steelers fans, we are very aware that Steelers Nation is spread out across all the US, but the world? Perhaps someone was more aware of the magnitude of the Steelers fan base when they coined the named Steelers "Nation."

Take a look at this picture - does something jump out at you? Yep - there's that big ol' beautiful Terrible Towel of ours in the background of the USA women's beach volleyball gold medal winners Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor along with silver and bronze medal winning teams - in BEIJING, CHINA!!


The Steeler players were just as surprised to see the Terrible Towel waving in this picture; here are some of the reactions:

CASEY HAMPTON:

“Come on. Wow! We are always representing. When we go to other stadiums we have more fans and our fans are louder. It’s crazy to see, but I definitely can believe it.”

HINES WARD:

“That just speaks about the Steelers nation – we are all the way in China. That is what is great about the organization and fans – no matter where we go in the world there are Steelers fans everywhere. It’s just great to be a part of it. That picture speaks for itself – we are everywhere.”

BEN ROETHLISBERGER:

“That’s pretty cool. We know we have fans all over the world. That just proves it right there. It’s awesome to see the support of the United States and the Steelers. To have them back us like that is awesome.”

So if "they" want to call the Dallas Cowboys "America's Team," that's fine. But this picture proves that the Steelers are not only America's team; they're the World's!
